Middle Hampshire Avon at St Marys Cathedral area, Salisbury


Rising river levels are expected to cause flooding today.  Flooding is expected on 28 January 2026 .  Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Middle Hampshire Avon, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around The Close, St Marys Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral School, Bishops Walk, Exeter Street and Carmelite Way. Further flooding is expected this evening as river levels remain high in response to recent rainfall and due to high groundwater levels. Weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled over the coming days, and we are monitoring the situation. .  We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .  Start acting on your flood plan if you have one .  This message will be updated by 2:00PM on 29 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
