Flood Alert

Lower River Eden

Flooding continues to be possible on 14 and 15 December 2025 . Persistent rainfall is forecast throughout Sunday (14/12/2025) and Monday (15/12/2025), which will cause river levels to rise however, we do not expect Flood Warnings to be issued at this time. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near river Eden and its tributaries from its confluence with the River Irthing through Crosby-on-Eden and Carlisle to the Solway Firth at Rockcliffe. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 15 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
