Rising river levels this afternoon may lead to flooding as a result of recent heavy rain. Flooding is possible this evening, Monday 15/09/2025 and through to tomorrow morning, Tuesday, 16/09/2025. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Skell, River Ure, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around low-lying land including agricultural land and local roads in the areas around Masham, Boroughbridge, Aldborough and Bishop Monkton. We are closely monitoring the situation and liaising with emergency services and local authorities. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 21:00 on Monday, 15/09/25, or as the situation changes.
