South Devon coast from Start Point to Dawlish Warren

Flooding is possible 3 hours either side of high tide on Thursday evening.  High tide of 1.89mAOD at Teignmouth will be at 19:00 on Thursday 30th. Strong Easterly Force 5 winds and offshore wave heights up to 1.4m are forecast. Recent storms have increased the risk of wave overtopping at Torcross. Conditions will be less hazardous along Torcross seafront, compared to this morning’s (Thursday 30th) high tide. Coastal conditions are expected to ease following Thursday evening high tide.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Avoid beaches and coastal promenades, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 3:00 PM on Friday the 1st of May 2026 or as the situation changes.
