River levels across West Somerset remain high on Thursday 29th January, particularly on the Washford River. Flooding is possible as a result. Areas most at risk include the Horner Water, River Aller, Washford River and the Hawkcombe, Monksilver and Doniford Streams and their tributaries, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected. Throughout the day isolated showers are forecast, with a band of more sustained rain this evening through to the early hours of Friday morning. We are closely monitoring the situation and Field Teams are out clearing debris screens and checking rivers for blockages. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Remain aware of local water levels and weather conditions and don’t put yourself or others at risk. This message will be updated by 1PM on 30/01/2026, or as the situation changes.
