Middle Stour and tributaries

Rising river levels may lead to flooding.  Flooding is possible on 09 December 2025 due to heavy rainfall overnight.  Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Middle Dorset Stour, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around tributaries between Sturminster Newton and Wimborne. Flooding is possible from Today as river levels are expected to rise after intense rainfall overnight and throughout Tuesday. Weather conditions are expected to improve from Wednesday with little rainfall expected.  We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and checking rivers for blockages.  Consider activating any flood protection products you may have and monitor local water levels and weather conditions.  This message will be updated by 2:00PM on 10 December 2025 or as the situation changes.
