Groundwater levels in Salisbury Plain are beginning to plateau but remain high. Areas that could be affected include: Kingston Deverill, Monkton Deverill, Hill Deverill, Longbridge Deverill, Crockerton, Norton Bavant, Heytesbury, Corton, Upton Lovell, Boyton, Sherrington, Stockton and Bapton. The groundwater level at the Tilshead MOD borehole is at 108.59m. We have had a few days of drier weather, but further rainfall is forecast starting tomorrow, Thursday 26 February, which may cause levels to rise once again into the weekend. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems. Properties may experience flooding in cellars in affected areas. Flooding of roads is expected, take particular care when driving, both for your own safety and to prevent flooding to others. Roads may have become damaged by floodwater. We will continue to monitor the situation closely. This message will be updated by 2:00 PM on 11 March 2026.
