Groundwater flooding for the Hooke


High groundwater levels are expected to cause flooding.  Flooding is expected from today, 23 January 2026 onwards.  Areas that could be affected include: Hooke, Toller Whelme and Toller Porcorum. The groundwater level at the Dickley Down borehole has risen to 165m, and is expected to rise over the next few days. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems.  We are closely monitoring the situation Roads may be flooded or become damaged by groundwater flooding.  If you have a pump, make sure it is working and switched on. Think about alternative power sources in case of power cuts .  This message will be updated by 11:08AM on 30 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
