Groundwater flooding in the Bourne Valley - The Winterbournes

High groundwater levels are expected to cause flooding. Groundwater levels in Salisbury Plain are high. The groundwater level at the Clarendon borehole is at 72.35m, and remains reactive to further rainfall. High groundwater levels will influence the level of the River Bourne as well, increasing the risk of fluvial flooding. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. Residents may experience inundation of septic tanks and sewer systems.
