High tides are expected to cause flooding this evening.  Flooding is expected from 15:00 to 00:30 on 30/01/2026  Areas most at risk include A354 Chiswell, Brandy Row, Pebble Lane, Victoria Square up to the junction with Queens Road, the car parks along the A354 and the yard along Lerret Road. Forecast weather conditions may cause higher waves for an extended period after high water. A 0.54m surge and large waves totalling 4.2m will increase water levels higher than normal. We are expecting a high total water level (including waves) of 5.5mAODN. For information the high tide is at 5.00pm with South Westerly Force 7 winds. Wave period is 16.0 seconds.  We are closely monitoring the situation .  Avoid beaches and coastal promenades, which may be flooded .  This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 31 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
