Groundwater flooding in Denmead

Groundwater levels in Denmead are high but slowly falling. At the borehole at Rookwood Farm, the level peaked on Saturday 28/02/2026 and has fallen by 25cm. Water is flowing into the road at Anmore Road and Mill Close. High groundwater levels could affect the sewage network from operating effectively. Only small amounts of rain are forecast from Thursday 05/03/2026 to Monday 09/03/2026. Groundwater levels in Denmead will continue to slowly fall across this week. We are closely monitoring the situation. Residents are advised to prepare property resilience measures and ensure that pumps are working where they have been installed. This message will be updated by 18:00 12/03/2026.
