Lower River Medway

River levels remain high this evening as a result of yesterday’s heavy rainfall. Flooding is possible throughout the rest of today, 28 January and into tomorrow, 29 January. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near rivers, particularly around Yalding, Wateringbury and East Farleigh but particularly at Lockmeadow and the underpasses at Maidstone Town Centre. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 10:00am on 29 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
