Middle River Roding

High river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on Saturday 31 January 2026. River levels rose slightly overnight as more water made its way through the river system. The river is expected to slowly drop today and will continue to do so over the weekend. Locations most affected will be low lying land and roads near the river around Abridge and Loughton. We are closely monitoring the situation as some further rain is possible over the weekend. This is not expected to significantly impact river levels. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 18:00 on 31 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
