High river levels today may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 28 January 2026 .River levels continue to be high following recent rainfall.
Areas most at risk are low lying land and riverside areas on the Blackwater from Radwinter to Langford, including Great Sampford, Bridge End, Finchingfield, Bocking, Bradwell, Coggeshall and Kelvedon. And Braintree, Black Notley, White Notley and Witham on the Brain. The weather forecast is improving, and we expect levels to start returning to normal soon.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels .
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses .
