River levels are dropping but the risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including Ashford and Bakewell areas. Rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. River levels at Ashford in the Water Gauge will remain high over the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses & plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers. This message will be updated by 18:00 on 29 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
