High river levels today may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible on 09 December 2025 . Flooding may continue over the next few days. Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent the river from Shrewsbury to Upper Arley. Locations that may be affected are White Abbey, Coalbrookdale, Ironbridge and Bridgnorth. River Severn bankfull at White Abbey, floodplain may be filling at Hayes Basin. Predicted peaks:- Montford 5.4m-5.7m 10/12 PM, Welsh Bridge 3.0m to 3.3m 10/12 PM, Buildwas 3.9m to 4.4m 11/12 PM, Bridgnorth 3.0m to 3.4m 11/12 PM. We are closely monitoring the situation . Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water . This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 10 December 2025 or as the situation changes
