Flood Alert

Irish Sea from New Brighton to Hoylake

We do not anticipate the next high tide this evening, 26 October 2026, to meet the flood alert threshold. However, there is a still risk of flooding from 11:00 PM on 26 October 2026. Locations most affected by spray overtopping will be low lying land and roads at the head of the Wirral from Hoylake to New Brighton, including parts of Leasowe and Wallasey. We are expecting that the high tide tomorrow afternoon, 27 October 2026 will meet the flood alert threshold. We are expecting higher than normal high tides over the next 2 days, and a result, we may issue further flood alerts and flood warnings. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 10:00 AM on Tuesday 27 October or as the situation changes.
